random thoughts for today...

... I was finally able to have lunch with my pregnant friend and discuss her pregnancy. She is due in June and I literally had not asked her one question about it until now. We are heading out for a spa weekend next weekend. We had planned this a while ago and I knew it was going to be hard to spend a weekend with her if I still was not pregnant. But thankfully now I don't have to worry about that.

... Back to my post from last week about finally not feeling paralyzed any more - we have finally placed the order for the furniture we have been meaning to buy for about 2 years, but kept putting off because we weren't sure how much more we were going to have to spend on fertility. And I finally called that contractor about some work to be done around here (some custom built in cabinets).

... I sent my leftover stim meds to a BBS friend. I know things could still go wrong, but with 6 great ones in the freezer, I don't think we'll be needing those meds any time soon.

... My mother is getting way ahead of herself. She left me two messages today saying she was at Tar.get and they have some maternity tops that were cute and did I want her to buy them because they only had a few left. Seriously mom. Getting waaaay ahead of ourselves, aren't we? I won't be needing that stuff for a few months yet.

... J has been given the assignment to find me some Lemon Heads on his way home from work. (because I worked from home today). Several online friends have recommended that this helps the nausea.

...J has been asked to crew with a friend in the annual Swiftsure yacht race, out of Victoria BC. So yay - another spa weekend for me. I booked a room for the weekend at what looks like a lovely hotel right in town, complete with an in-house Aveda Spa.

...Do I smell different? Ok, 'cause here's something wierd. The cat is acting strange around me. More snuggly than usual, but also he keeps sniffing at me like I smell strange. I wonder if some amount of additional hormones have made me smell different -at least to the uber-sensitive feline nose.

There were quite a few positive pregnancy announcements in the blogosphere this week and last! Congrats to all of you! I'm excited that I will have so many of my cycle buddies to go through this pregnancy with me. And several of you have ultrasounds on the same day as me!

Previously I had not really been able to read the blogs of pregnant people -the only blogs on my link list were of those still trying. It just hurt too much to read about other people's success when I was in so much pain and had been through so much failure. But I have now added a success section to my link list, and I have been moving those of you with positive tests to that section. I hope you don't mind.

There have also been some negative announcements, and I hurt for every one of you. I know all too well how it feels. There's nothing anyone can say to make it feel better. I know that some day - one way or another - you will all feel the peace that I've been feeling this past two weeks. I totally understand if some of you don't visit my blog any more - because, as I said above, I wasn't able to read pregnant blogs before now. But I will still be visiting you and cheering you on.

Hey, well I'm still here. But you won't mind if I comment less, I hope. Apart from anything else, I don't have a lot to say about m/s, ultrasounds, maternity clothes and baby furniture. But I'm lurking.

I'm definately still visiting you and cheering you on. It makes me really happy when one of us makes it through to the other side. Gives me hope that maybe, just maybe I can do it too.

I just wanted to let you know that when I got pregnant my dog started laying her head on my belly a LOT more than usual! I think they can sense these things.

My animals haved acted differently around me as well. My big dog has been more protective and sweeter. She has always wanted to be near me, but she is hardly ever not touching me now. My cats seem snugglier too
