The first 100 days

Daniel and Callie are 100 days old. It's been the best 100 days of my life.

We were in Starbucks today, and a woman came up to us and told us about her twins. She said her husband used to say that when they are young the days are long but the years are short. So true. Sometimes each of these days have seemed long - but the 100 days since their birth have gone by like the blink of an eye.

As I thought of their age - what popped in my head was that the birth date seems like an arbitrary start to life. They are in reality much older than 100 days. Really they are 346 days old. It was 346 days ago that they were conceived - and to me that is when their lives began. If they had been born a week earlier or later, then they would be considered a different age - but they would still be who they are.
